Four Steps To Success
by John Colanzi

What is success?

For the business owner, success is defined as "the
achievement of wealth and fame".

For many, wealth and fame remain only dreams, but there
is a four step formula that will allow anyone who truly
desires success to reach their dreams.

Step # 1. Know your product or service

Before you begin promoting your product or service, you
must learn everything about it. You must know the
benefits inside and out.

Don't become a modern day snake oil salesmen by
promoting something you know nothing about. Your
reputation and credibility are on the line.

Promoting something just for the money is a sure fire
way to damage your reputation and lose a customer for
life.

Promote only products or services you truly believe
in and know something about.

Step #2 Set Goals

Your goal is your roadmap to success. Without goals
you wander aimlessly. Until you've sat down and
committed your goals to writing, you are doing nothing
more than daydreaming.

Make your goal big enough to get you excited, but
not so big that you don't believe you can achieve it.

Remember the formula:
Conceiving + Believing = Achieving

Step #3

Make a plan for reaching your goal. A goal is important,
but to accomplish your goal you must have a plan of
action.

Your plan must be detailed enough to help you reach your
goal, but flexible enough to allow for modifications as
circumstances warrant.

We all operate from incomplete knowledge, so once we
begin our journey, we must be prepared to make changes
as our knowledge increases.

Step # 4

Put your plan into action. Without taking action, your
goal will remain a daydream.

Once you start moving in the direction of your goals,
you'll find your goals will meet you half way.

Once your plan is in place, you must begin to act
immediately. Remember an object in motion tends to
remain in motion.

Start moving today.

These four steps may seem simple, but follow them and
they'll take you anywhere you want to go.

Warm regards, Rosalie

Home Based Business Entrepreneurs

Home based business entrepreneurs are increasing at a rapid rate.  Often those that do start a business from home today have done so, not out of choice, but out of desperation to create a source of income.  They had no other alternative, what with the downturn in the economy worldwide there are just too few jobs to go around these days.

When starting out, it can be difficult to know what sort of business to start.   You will find that many successful home based business entrepreneurs have combined their hobby or passion, their experience as well as their skills and more often than not have launched their business online too.

Here we take a look at three ways home based business entrepreneurs can get started for very little outlay.

Turning a hobby or passion into a home based business is one way of ensuring that you will enjoy building your business.  Use your expertise and knowledge to generate income.  If you are an expert bass fisherman, you can start a blog and post articles based on your experience.  You can then monetize the blog with affiliate products related to bass fishing.  As fishing is something you love to do, it will make it so easy for you to pass your knowledge onto your blog readers in the form of regular blog posts.

If you are an expert needlewoman or knitter, you could not only market your products from home but also online.  Again you would need to set up a site or blog that is set up to receive payments through a payment processor such as PayPal for example.  You could upload photos of your work onto your blog and write a description of each product and a detailed order form for your customers to order.  You could further monetize your blog with related affiliate products or ebooks.

Once you have your website or blog set up then you would need to initially focus on learning how to market an internet business so that you get a steady stream of targeted visitors on a daily basis.

Another very popular option for home based business entrepreneurs is to provide a service online using skills you already possess.  Nowadays, the computer is part of everyone’s life from an early age and so it is highly likely that you used one when working in a job.  You would have learnt skills that other people are still lacking, such as graphic design, installing websites, writing articles, internet marketing, blogging or social media.

To market your services you would need to set up a professional looking website detailing exactly what services you are offering, samples of your work, the price, a way for clients to order and pay and a method of contacting you.  If you provide a good service you will gain more business from referrals.  You could also offer your services to offline businesses which have yet to make a presence online.

Thirdly, a very popular option that can be done from home totally online these days, or both online and offline is network marketing.  A network marketing business enables you to start making money very quickly by selling the products.  Once you start sponsoring new members and your network marketing business grows, then you will then start earning residual income every month.

With network marketing these days you can have digital products or physical products.  You could start your own network marketing business in the fitness industry for example with 7 Minute Workout. This is a great way to keep fit, while helping others do the same and earn money doing it.  Or you could go for a totally online network marketing business such as My World Plus, where you can use the exclusive membership discount card and coupons to save money monthly and use their automated online business system to generate income weekly.

The above are three popular ways that home based business entrepreneurs are getting started today, which do not cost much and are easy to launch.

Build Up Your Self Confidence

Our vulnerability to fear is in opposite proportion to our feeling of self worth.

If you have little self regard and consider yourselves to be worthless and of little value you will be enormously fearful.

On the other hand, if you are genuinely self confident you are less likely to be fearful. If you know that you have dealt effectively with problems in the past you are likely to have self confidence in your ability to deal with new problems.

You have probably acquired your feelings of inadequacy, because the people around you have made you feel inadequate and worthless.

Therefore in order to build up your self confidence you must replace negative, damaging feelings of failure, incompetence and unworthiness with positive feelings of success.

Let’s look at some workable ways in which you can boost your self confidence and eliminate your feelings of inadequacy.

First sit down with a piece of paper and a pencil and write down all the good things you can think of to say about yourself. Imagine that you are preparing a marketing campaign for yourself. This is where you will promote all your good points. You are trying to sell yourself to the world, though really you selling yourself to yourself.

I know that if you are shy and lacking in self confidence you may feel that it is going to be a daunting task. If you feel you are not ready to do it on your own, ask a friend that you trust to sit with you, they always say a job shared is a job halved. Create a list of words between you here is a few to start you of, honest, generous, thoughtful, hard-working, punctual, careful, considerate, moral, kind, ambitious, creative there lots just get your thinking hat on. Write down every good word that you think of, and then go through the list and tick of the ones that you honestly believe apply to yourself.

Read your `advertisement' every day to improve your self-image.

Stop seeing yourself as a failure, substitute your negative thinking with some positive images. You have to learn to see yourself as a success.

Now make a list of all the things you hold dear to you, not things you own but a list of all the intangibles in your life. If your married this would be your partner, your children, plus your integrity, your friends, your interests, your knowledge, your accomplishments and your good memories. These are the real treasures in your life. Next write down all the things for which you are grateful. When you look at your lists you may be surprised to find how many things there are that you can be proud about. These are your blessings.

Write down your top twenty memories, the magical times in your life when you felt at your happiest and calmest. Keep the list somewhere safe and look at it regularly. Keep your lists up dated adding new special memories to your Top Twenty lists as they occur.

Some fears aren't always easy to identify or isolate. If you have a problem which you want to identify try asking yourself `Why?'. That one word is the key to understanding (and overcoming) fear.

So, for example, if you feel `angry' and suspect that your anger may be caused by underlying fear ask yourself: `Why?' And keep asking `why?' until you get some answers.

Fear of the unknown is a powerful driving force. But you can derail this particular fear by always asking yourself. What is the worst thing that can happen in this situation? You will often be surprised to find that the worst really isn't all that bad. Once you know the worst you can make plans accordingly, my mother used to say “Fear comes knocking on the door, Faith answers it and there is no one there”.

My fear was of failure though I sometimes think it is fear of success, two sides of the same coin. How many times have you been on the verge of success and then you have sabotaged yourself, I’ve done it lots of times and in this moment in time I’m finishing my first book and once again the cold icy fingers of the fear of failure is creeping up on me, however I’ve made a plan and put it into action. My plan is written down and it’s now only one month to my book being published each day, I’m facing my fear and doing it anyway. My book may be a success who knows but I’ll have looked fear in the face and know I had nothing to fear but fear it’s self

Fear likes to keep us busy, we do jobs we don’t like because we’re frightened of what might happen if we leave. Fears keep people in relationships which have no future. Fear destroys courage and initiative. Fear of the unknown is one of society's ways of keeping us under control.

Spend As Much Time As You Can With Positive People

Don't spend time with people who are always criticising you, putting you down or looking on the gloomy side of life. Make every effort to make new friends out of people you admire. What's the worst that can happen? a negative response. What's the best that can happen? a great new friend.

Spend time with people who support and encourage you. Don’t put up with people who put you down? Keep away from them. Don't bother to share your life with them unless, of course, they change. Write positive quotes in your diary. Use inspirational books and tapes. Spend the first twenty minutes of your day doing something positive this will set you up for the day. Limit the amount of negative TV you watch, keep up with what is going on in the world by reading a once-a-week news magazine.
Remember that if you send out positive thoughts, you will get positive thoughts back.

Stuff Happens… Now What Are You Going To Do About It?

Ok I’m focused and know where I’m going and now I’ve received an email
telling me that my friend Bob Mouncer has been called away to London as
a friend of his is seriously ill. Bob is proof reading my book, my dead
line for getting my book back was Mid-June. My first instinct was to
panic, my second was, there’s nothing that can be done about it, I’ll just
have to deal with it after all nothings set in concrete and the date for
the launch can be moved.

I’ve slept on it and have decided to start reproof reading, this means
learning the ebook software will have to wait. Stuff Happens.

What do you do when you’ve made up your mind to move forward on your
dreams, you start on your goals, and then calamity strikes? You have
to decide to keep your eyes on the prize and not on the problems.
Problems will come, in fact, they must come. That’s how we grow, however,
we must decide whether we will go through the problems or grow through
the problems. That decision will determine our actions. And our actions
will determine our results.

So when life gets in the way as it sometimes does and it knocks you down
and tries to knock you out, Just pick yourself up, Dust yourself down, and
now get moving again in the direction of your goals.

Fellow entrepreneur, we all have challenges on our journey towards our goal
for greater success, but please do not stop. Don’t give up. No matter what
don’t let anything wreck your success. Focus on the prize of achieving the
goal rather than the pain of the problem. In time, you will see your prizes
grow and your problems shrink. Most of all, you will grow yourself and
achieve success.

By the way I’ve had a second email from Bob, telling me he’d taken my
book with him to London and that he thinks we can still achieve by
mid-June deadline what a gem. Oh dear that means I’m back to
getting to grips with  the ebook software which is another challenge.

Albert Einstein once defined insanity as doing the same thing over and
over again and expecting different results.

Stuff Happens… Now What Are You Going To Do About It? Part 2

Well this morning I’ve received bad news from my friend Bob Mouncer.
Bob called me from London to say his friend has passed away they were
friends for over 48 years so it as hit him hard.

As you can see I’m running late mad May as gone and I’ve decided
that our website will have to go online now before the book is ready. I’ve
had to refocus as it was nearly ready and I’ll tweak it  as we go along, I’m still
getting to grips with the software for the book, yes Stuff Happens.

Ok what now, it’s time to refocus yet again, looking at my list there’s lots
to do. Going to start to look for place to sell my  book, any suggestions great
fully received please leave a comment on my blog.

Our auto responder is up and running and when you sign up for our Tips,
Advice and much more newsletter we be giving you Suzanne Morrison’s
10 Free SEO Tools. Suzanne’s book was a great help to me whilst I’ve been
building our website, and there are links to other FREE stuff that will help
you build your website.

I’m setting a new launch date for my book, as I said in my last post nothing
is set in concrete

On a brighter note the sun is shining, I’m going to take a couple of hours off
and go with my husband James to take the dogs for a walk and maybe do a
bit of shopping, then it will be back to work, it as become a labour of love,
which is a good job really it as taken a long time  to fulfil
my dream I’m now 90% of the way there and by July it will be 99%
the last 1% is for my book to become a success.

Where Do Dreams Come From?
Dreams, where do they come from? Robert Schuller,
noted minister and author, says that dreams do not
come out of the blue but rather come out of the mind
of God. God matches the dream with the dreamer,
someone who will receive it, respect it, embrace it,
claim it, live for it and be willing to die for it. God gives
to humans one of his greatest gifts, a dream. Yet it is
up to us to receive it and let it grow, or to reject it and
kill it.

Proverbs 29:18 says, ''Where There Is No Vision
the People Perish.'' I believe in ''Where There Is
a Vision the People Flourish.'' We must dare to dream
and dare to win!

Go forth today and Dream Big...and then Do Big!
